News and Reviews => On April 24th, Renee Dodd was given the 2008 Townsend Prize for Fiction for A Cabinet of Wonders. This award is "presented biennially to the Georgia writer judged to have published the best book of fiction in the previous two years." Please stay tuned to the Events page to see upcoming appearances related to this honor. => A Cabinet of Wonders has been chosen as the January book club pick for two regional programs: Atlanta & Company, a television show on the Atlanta NBC affiliate, and Cover to Cover, a Georgia Public Broadcasting radio program. See my Appearances page for the dates, times, and channels. => Kirkus Reviews has included A Cabinet of Wonders in their Best Books of '06 Special issue as one of "30 Outstanding Titles that Deserve Your Attention." => In the November/December issue of ForeWord Magazine, Peyton Moss reviews A Cabinet of Wonders. => The Atlanta Journal and Constitution reviewed A Cabinet of Wonders on October 29th. Hal Jacobs writes, "Dodd's writing is irresistible from the opening lines." => The Baltimore Sun ran a nice review of A Cabinet of Wonders on October 1st. Victoria A. Brownworth writes, "Dodd's quirky, moving and utterly unique novel has crisp, smart writing and amazing verisimilitude of place, time and character. No voyeuristic freak show, Cabinet of Wonders is about the perils of marginalization and the costs of acceptance." => The Union Recorder gave A Cabinet of Wonders a nice review/article, as well as a mention in the Current Highlights section in the August 29th edition. Niether is posted in its entirety online, but here's a sample: Bobby Matthews calls the book "engrossing," and says, "The book itself is a wonder. It's masterfully crafted and pulls the reader into the story immediately." => The August 15th issue of Library Journal gave A Cabinet of Wonders its second *starred review*. Here's a quote: "Dodd's prose is graceful, smooth, and intelligent, and her well-researched debut novel is sure to please many readers. Highly recommended." => The July 15th issue of Kirkus gave A Cabinet of Wonders a *starred review*.
